I found the play at the Lantern Theater very enjoying.
Although I found the costumes very different and surprising, I understand why the director chose to style the actors in this manner. Ophelia’s dress was very modern which at first confused me. She also appeared younger then Hamlet. I believe that this is because Ophelia is very immature in the play. He headband and flats showed how naive and young the young girl really is which could be the reason why she was always running to her father and telling on her love, Hamlet
The energy of the play was fun and upbeat and I found little time for distraction. When watching the play I was impressed with the different stage directions as well as the way the actors moved quickly even in the dark. I enjoyed when the actors came out after the play to speak with us.
